Leon grows in meetings industry with 3rd AMIRE

With the celebration of the 3rd AMIRE Meeting at the Borregos Arena of the Monterrey Institute of Technology, Leon continues to grow in the meetings industry in Mexico

Leon continues to strengthen its position as one of the strategic destinations for the meetings industry in Mexico, with the 3rd AMIRE Meeting: “The Impact of Creating Experiences”, a platform that brings together professionals to strengthen the connection, professionalization and generation of business opportunities in the sector.

Following up on the Guanajuato SUMA strategy of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), during the inauguration of the 3rd AMIRE Meeting, reiterated the strengthening of the meetings sector, recognized for maintaining an agenda that combines infrastructure, connectivity, professionalization and coordination between authorities, venues, companies and service providers.

The Secretary of Tourism and Identity, Maria Guadalupe Robles Leon, pointed out the relevance of the meetings sector for the entire State, since Tourism is the third largest economic force in the State, representing 8.1% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Guanajuato, of which Meetings Tourism accounts for 3.5%.

“This is the size of the Meetings Industry for our State: 11.99% of visitors to Guanajuato come to participate in an event. This means 2,854,000 visitors in a year, representing 6.847 billion pesos. This is the Meetings Industry for Guanajuato,” said the Secretary of Tourism and Identity.

In this third edition of AMIRE (Mexican Association of the Meetings and Events Industry), the meeting brings together:

• Event organizers, suppliers, buyers, hotels, venues, business chambers, associations, universities, authorities and other strategic actors in the value chain

These participants will be part of a program that addresses the challenges and opportunities of the industry through two main axes: “The impact that inspires” and “The impact that generates business”.

The first section includes keynote addresses, panels, and success stories related to destination transformation, the economic impact of events, and the challenges facing the meetings industry in Mexico.

Meanwhile, “The Impact that Generates Business” will offer practical content focused on generating business opportunities, security, technology, lighting, catering, and artificial intelligence applied to event organization.

“This AMIRE meeting is not only a space to share knowledge because I already saw the program and it’s excellent; we also go to the alliances that we always make, generate business but above all to see each other, listen to each other, know that we are together and that we are a great community,” said Robles.

“We have six destinations that are making a strong advance: Leon, obviously, as a pioneering destination, always at the forefront and among the top 5 in the Meetings Industry nationwide; we also have Silao, San Miguel de Allende, Irapuato, Celaya, and Guanajuato City. All six have infrastructure, connectivity, and specialized venues to host national and international events,” said the Secretary.
