The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, led the start of the 2026-2027 Winter Season Vaccination Campaign, from the municipality of Huanimaro.
This is a prevention strategy that seeks to reduce the risks of respiratory diseases and their complications during the colder months.

The campaign runs from October 12, 2026, to April 2, 2027, and includes the administration of influenza and Covid 19 vaccines and it is primarily aimed at:
- Children aged 6 to 59 months (five years)
- Adults over 60 years
- Pregnant women
- Healthcare workers
- People with chronic illnesses or conditions that increase the risk of complications
The launch of this campaign in Huanimaro reflects the importance of bringing health services to all the territory, maintaining close ties with the communities, and working in a coordinated manner with the municipalities and health staff, said the Governor.
– “Guanajuato has the best healthcare system in Mexico, and this is possible thanks to our people who work with heart and passion every day. So, get vaccinated this winter,” said the Governor.

For this season, the People’s Government, through the Public Health Institute (ISAPEG), aims to administer:
- 1,723,805 doses
- Of which 1,009,806 correspond to influenza
- 713,999 to Covid 19
“I want to invite you to come, to visit us because truly, getting vaccinated is an act of affection and love,” noted Libia.

To facilitate access to these services, there will be 377 vaccination points distributed throughout the State, bringing protection closer to families and their communities.
Guanajuato is a national leader in universal vaccination, thanks to a permanent policy of prevention, availability of biologicals, epidemiological surveillance and territorial work.

In the last 2 years health staff has applied:
- More than 4.8 million doses of the Universal Vaccination Program
- With coverage rates exceeding 90%
- A number that is among the highest in Mexico

Currently, the State network provides services to a population of 3.1 million people without health insurance, while the State budget approved for health has grown 25.3% between 2024 and 2026, as part of the effort to strengthen the capacity of care.
