The State Institute of Training (IECA) and the Center for Optical Research, AC (CIO) formalized a collaboration agreement to explore joint projects for specialized training, technical advice and innovation, with the purpose of strengthening the talent and technological capabilities of Guanajuato.

Salomon Ceballos Ochoa, general director of IECA, noted the importance of working hand in hand with specialized institutions such as the CIO, whose facilities and scientific experience represent an opportunity to promote new knowledge and prepare talent that responds to the needs of the productive sectors.

The head of IECA expressed his gratitude for the support and willingness of the CIO to assist in the cleanroom installation project at the Center for Development, Training, and Innovation (CEDECI). He noted that the consulting and training provided will be fundamental to its implementation, with the expectation of completing it during 2027 and contributing to Guanajuato becoming a national leader in these areas.

Amalia Martinez Garcia, general director of the CIO, noted the value of linking scientific research with talent development and the needs of companies.

“We are convinced that knowledge acquires greater value when it transcends the laboratories and becomes solutions that respond to the needs of people, companies, and our environment. Therefore, we consider collaboration between research institutions, training organizations, and the productive sector to be fundamental”, said Martinez.

“While at the CIO we generate knowledge and develop technologies, training plays an essential role in strengthening the skills and abilities that allow us to take advantage of these advances and drive innovation in production processes,” said Amalia.

The collaboration also opens the possibility of exploring specialized training alternatives in areas related to semiconductors and other technologies, leveraging the CIO ‘s experience in research and development, as well as IECA’s track record in workforce training.

Representatives of IECA toured CIO’s facilities and specialized areas which provided a firsthand look at the research capabilities and infrastructure that could contribute to future joint initiatives.

With this agreement, the IECA and the CIO establish a basis for collaboration to explore initiatives that bring scientific knowledge closer to the training of people and contribute to prepare talent for the technological challenges of the present and the future.
