The Secretary of Health of Guanajuato presents the Runway of Life, a tribute to breast cancer survivors with the motto “Every step counts, every life inspires”

With the motto “Every step counts, every life inspires,” the Secretary of Health presented the 2026 edition of the Runway of Life for 53 breast cancer survivors.
This is an event that will bring together for the first time breast cancer survivors from different municipalities of Guanajuato and will be open to the public.
It is an initiative of the State Committee of Boards and Volunteers CEPAV that seeks to recognize the stories of women who have faced breast cancer and who today represent an example of struggle, courage and hope for many other patients and their families.
The Secretary of Health of Guanajuato, Gabriel Cortes Alcala, said that on October 19, on the occasion of World Breast Cancer Awareness Day, in the vicinity of the Forum Cultural de Leon, the activities will begin at 10 a.m. with a solidarity bazaar, medical guidance and cancer prevention actions, while the Pasarela de Vida (Life Runway) will be held in the afternoon.
The charity bazaar will offer products and food, while the funds raised will be used to support women facing breast cancer.
This activity will include the participation of volunteers from CEPAV, institutions and civil society, united by the same cause.
As part of this event, a medical forum will also be set up, where health personnel from Health Jurisdiction VII will offer information on breast cancer, risk factors, prevention, diagnosis and the importance of seeking timely medical attention.
The Runway of Life will be one of the central moments of this celebration, placing 53 women who are breast cancer survivors on the same stage, whose stories reflect that behind each diagnosis there is a family, emotions, challenges and, also, new opportunities to move forward.
The Secretary of Health said that the event will also feature guest artists and cultural activities, making it a space to celebrate life and send a message to all of society:
– No woman should face cancer alone, as there are health services, support, and people willing to walk alongside her
The Secretary urged the population to participate in this day of solidarity and prevention, because a timely diagnosis can change a life story.
Early detection and medical attention can make a significant difference in the fight against breast cancer.
“Every step counts, every life inspires” will be more than just a fashion show slogan: it will be a recognition of 53 women who have traveled a path of struggle and hope, and an invitation for more people from Guanajuato to join in prevention, because behind every life there is a story that deserves to continue.
