The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, participated as moderator in the panel “Leveled Court for All” as a demonstration of her commitment to build a more just and inclusive society with greater opportunities for women in Guanajuato.

“From this panel, we want girls and women to know that dreams have no gender, that being born a woman does not determine any disadvantage; on the contrary, it should motivate us to continue fighting for equality, so that girls and boys can dream big and fulfill those dreams,” said the State Governor.

Talking about a leveled court means recognizing that substantive equality goes beyond access; it involves ensuring fair, safe and non-discriminatory conditions so that all people can exercise their rights and reach their full potential, said the Secretary of Women, Itzel Balderas.
This panel is a space for dialogue and reflection, promoted by the Secretary of Women within as part of the activities of My Team is GTO; and brought together women who have paved the way with talent, discipline and perseverance.

Among those invited was Virginia “Vicky” Tovar, who in 2004 made history by becoming the first woman to referee a men’s First Division soccer match in Mexico. Her career represents the fight to break down prejudices and demonstrate that ability and leadership have no gender.
Karen Diaz Medina also participated, a member of the first female refereeing team to participate in a men’s FIFA World Cup, in Qatar 2022, a fact that set a precedent internationally and showed that women can reach the most important stages of world sport.


They were joined by Mariazel Olle Casas, a renowned sports communicator, whose presence in the media has helped to open spaces for women in sports analysis, coverage and hosting.
Also, Mayalu Rausch, a professional soccer player of Women Club Leon and a key player in the team’s attack, participated and shared her experience on the Mexican soccer fields with the attendees.

This meeting aimed to generate an open conversation about the social, cultural and institutional barriers that limit women’s participation in sports, as well as to promote equal opportunities, challenge stereotypes and strengthen positive role models for girls and young women.
“In Guanajuato, we continue working towards a leveled playing field for everyone. Thank you for joining us and being part of this panel. Let’s continue promoting a Guanajuato with opportunities for all,” Libia Dennise said to the panelists.
