Libia Dennise delivers the Cañaveral Boulevard; the new road alternative to relieve traffic in eastern León
The People’s Government allocated almost 174 MP in a strategic project that makes travel faster and safer

Starting today, León has a new alternative route to improve mobility in the eastern part of the City and reduce traffic congestion on other roads, including the Airport Boulevard.
The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, delivered the Cañaveral Boulevard, a project in which the State Government invested approximately 174 million pesos and which connects the Vicente Valtierra and Juan Alonso de Torres boulevards.
“Today I feel very proud to deliver this project, which is of high quality, worthy of the families who will travel through here, and which, in addition to benefiting the more than 9,000 vehicles that pass through this area, is also a new alternative route and will help reduce traffic congestion on Airport Boulevard,” said Libia Dennise.
“This Cañaveral Boulevard is a completed project, a project that addresses the most pressing needs of the people, and that will unite families with better connectivity,” said the Governor.
“And we will continue working hand in hand with our people, because more projects and actions are coming because we want to continue delivering results for the benefit of the families of León, and proof of this project that turned out beautifully,” added the Governor.
The Secretary of Public Works for the State, Juan Pablo Pérez Beltrán, explained that this project, which was carried out on the section connecting Vicente Valtierra Boulevard with Juan Alonso de Torres Boulevard, is a modern and functional roadway that will directly benefit more than 182,000 residents of the northern and southern areas of eastern León.
The project involved improvements to 1.5 kilometers of road, which now has six lanes, three in each direction, a central median, wide sidewalks, and a bike path that strengthens sustainable mobility, he added.
In addition, 420 meters of bike path were enabled to give continuity to the existing infrastructure and provide greater safety conditions to those who use the bicycle as a means of transport.
Acceleration lanes and other complementary works were also built to allow for safer merging and smoother traffic flow. All of this was done with people in mind; pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users first and foremost.
Traffic lights, bollards, and tactile paving were installed to guide and facilitate the movement of people with visual disabilities, as well as the installation of drainage, storm sewers, and public lighting, said the Secretary of Public Works. Mayor of Leon thanked the State Government for building this project, which is strategic for the connectivity of this city.
