Guanajuato consolidates its leadership in digital transformation with the second edition of CercanIA Fest 2026 on August 26th

The People’s Government, through the Innovation Institute, will hold the second edition of CercanIA Fest 2026, the State’s flagship technology, innovation and digitalization event, on August 26 at the Inforum in Irapuato.
CercanIA Fest 2026 is strategically aligned with the Institute’s two central approaches:
- Guanajuato Digital, an initiative that articulates the strategy to promote the use of new technologies in the public and private sectors
- The Cercania approach, acting as the connector that links physical spaces, platforms, institutions and projects to bring technology near all of society
Following the success of its first edition on February 20th, Guanajuato consolidated its position as Mexico’s technological epicenter.
The event brought together more than 7,500 direct participants aimed to benefit 100,000 Guanajuatenses through Artificial Intelligence training in partnership with Microsoft, a company that recognized the State as a national leader in technology adoption.
In that edition, Guanajuato presented its Digital Transformation Strategy and the Ethical Artificial Intelligence Roadmap, earning global recognition, including UNESCO, as an exemplary case of purposeful innovation.
This edition of CercanIA Fest anticipates a more numerous attendance than the first edition, including young people, teachers, entrepreneurs, public servants, business owners, senior citizens, people with disabilities, and families.
The event will bring together more than 40 strategic partners, highlighting the participation of Canva, Microsoft, IBM, Meta, UNESCO and the Municipal Government of Irapuato.
As a key partner, Canva will sign an institutional collaboration agreement and promote the Canva for Campus program, the Canva Experience zone with collaborative activations and interventions, and a keynote address.
Canva is one of the companies with the largest adoption of artificial intelligence in design globally, and will participate in the Artificial Intelligence axis of the event, sharing how these tools are already part of the daily workflow of millions of people and teams.
The program will include more than 20 immersive AI experiences, 35 training workshops and keynote lectures structured around four strategic lines:
- Artificial Intelligence: Practical use cases, tools and applied agents
- Cybersecurity: Tools for protecting digital assets of individuals and companies
- Digital Commerce: Activations such as “Nenis con Meta” and acceleration tools for SMEs and entrepreneurs
- Technology in your life: Digital inclusion geared towards families, women, older adults and vulnerable groups
