“Children are the most beautiful that we have in Guanajuato, and that is why education is the most important thing we address in this Government of the People,” said Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo as she led the State launch of the RIMA 2026 test at the Euquerio Guerrero Lopez Elementary School in Guanajuato City.

Speaking to students, teachers, and parents, the Governor emphasized that evaluation is a tool to improve and support school communities, as it allows us to know where to strengthen learning and how to provide better opportunities for the children and adolescents of Guanajuato.

“When we evaluate ourselves, we are gathering information to improve the quality of learning. The school is a great team made up of students, teachers, administrators, parents, and we all work for you,” said Libia.

The RIMA test (Information Gathering for Learning Improvement), developed by the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato since 2020, has become a strategic tool for guiding pedagogical decisions, strengthening teacher training, and improving education policies. It is currently considered a national benchmark for its ability to measure progress and generate reliable information for decision-making.

The results obtained during its six administrations show sustained progress. In 2025, Guanajuato registered an average improvement of 5 percent in Spanish and 4 percent in Mathematics compared to the previous year; furthermore, 68 percent of the schools evaluated improved their results in Spanish and 64 percent in Mathematics, even surpassing the levels observed before the pandemic.

“Today I am very proud of the schools we have awarded. They are schools from different municipalities, and that speaks of the commitment of our teachers to continue generating quality education for our girls and boys,” said the People’s Governor.

“What is not evaluated and not understood cannot be improved. RIMA gives us a very clear roadmap for action to make decisions and strengthen the education paths of our girls and boys,” said the Secretary of Education, Luis Ignacio Sanchez Gomez.

The Secretary General of Section 13 of the SNTE, Raul Espinoza Alonso, reaffirmed the teachers’ commitment to the education of new generations and highlighted that the teachers of Guanajuato continue to act responsibly to education challenges.

The Governor presented awards to 46 public schools that achieved the most outstanding results and the greatest progress between 2024 and 2025, an achievement that reflects the joint effort of students, teachers, administrators and families in favor of an excellent education.
