Ensuring sufficient, competitive, and long-term energy is one of the major challenges for economic development in the coming years.

Guanajuato took a strategic step in building its energy future by signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Secretary of Economy and POLEA AC, an alliance that will contribute to the design of the State Energy Strategy.

The People’s Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, is promoting an agenda aimed at strengthening Guanajuato’s competitiveness through strategic planning, innovation, and the creation of conditions that will ensure sustainable economic growth for the coming decades.
This collaboration represents an important step in the process of integrating the State Energy Strategy, an instrument that seeks to consolidate a long-term vision to address the challenges and opportunities that the State faces in energy matters, considering the needs of industry, productive sectors and society.

“Ensuring energy conditions for the growth Guanajuato is a task that requires planning, coordination, and a vision for the future. With this alliance, we are taking an important step toward building a strategy that strengthens our competitiveness, promotes new investments, and generates more opportunities for Guanajuatense families,” noted the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar.
POLEA AC is a Mexican organization recognized for its experience in developing projects focused on institutional strengthening and the creation of public policies with a technical and participatory approach.

The development of the State Energy Strategy seeks to strengthen the State’s capability to face the challenges associated with industrial growth, the energy transition, sustainability and the future demand for energy infrastructure, fundamental elements to maintain Guanajuato’s competitiveness as one of the country’s main economic engines.
The initiative will create a roadmap to promote institutional coordination, attract investment, develop strategic projects, and strengthen conditions that foster economic growth and create opportunities for the people of Guanajuato.
