As part of the International Cervantino Festival (FIC), the Teatro Juarez cantina began a new phase of activity as a meeting and social space for the public who will visit one of Guanajuato’s most emblematic cultural venues during these weeks.

The opening of this space was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Lizeth Galvan Cortes, Secretary of Culture; Coni Vallejo, representative of the Secretary of Tourism, Lupita Robles; Undersecretary Alvaro Octavio Lara Huerta; Karen Burstein Campos, president of the Mexican Association of Women Entrepreneurs (AMEXME) in Guanajuato City and members of the association and their families.

The activation of the cantina during the FIC will complement the experience of those who attend the Teatro Juarez, adding a point of coexistence to the intense artistic and cultural activity that Guanajuato experiences during one of the most important festivals in Mexico.
Coni Vallejo, representing the Secretary of Tourism, Lupita Robles, acknowledged the importance of supporting initiatives led by women entrepreneurs and businesswomen, as well as generating links between tourism, culture and economic activity.

“It is an honor and a pleasure for me to be with all of you this morning, especially to see entrepreneurial women, businesswomen, always pushing forward,” said Robles.
Lizeth Galvan Cortes, Secretary of Culture, noted the importance of keeping alive the spaces that are part of the Juarez Theater and taking advantage of the Cervantino celebration to enrich the experience of its audiences.

“We want to see the Juarez Theater, of course, full of art and culture, but also with services that add value to our theater,” said Galvan.
Karen Burstein Campos, president of AMEXME, thanked the institutions that made this collaboration posible.

The reopening of the cantina will allow those attending the Teatro Juarez during the International Cervantino Festival to have an additional space for socializing before and after the artistic activities, strengthening the experience around one of the most representative stages of Mexico’s cultural life.
