“A project like Guanajuato Puerto Interior only reaches its true dimension when there is continuity and a long-term vision, when we are able to assume the responsibility we have as a generation and take it one step further,” said the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, recognizing the contributions of Guanajuato Inland Port (GPI) over the past 20 years.

This space opened up opportunities for employment, education and growth for Guanajuatense families and throughout two decades of work, today it reaffirms its vision of development, with investments that translate into well-being and possibilities for families.

GPI was created with the purpose of enabling new generations to prepare themselves, find work, and build their future in Guanajuato.
“Today Guanajuato continues to consolidate itself as one of the economic powers in the country; it is one of Mexico’s main export platforms,” said the Governor.

The consolidation of Puerto Interior has required planning, continuity between administrations and collaboration between government, companies and education institutions, said its General Director, Hector Lopez Santillana.
Currently, GPI brings together 140 companies from 19 countries, with an accumulated investment of $6.5 billion and more than 40,000 direct jobs that positively impact families in different municipalities.

“The results speak for themselves; the figures allow us to understand what Guanajuato Puerto Interior represents for our State, but also as part of our proactive transparency policy,” said the Governor.
Development also includes services such as the VIDA Daycare Center, whose new facilities were inaugurated by the Governor in February 2026, providing peace of mind to working mothers and fathers. This is complemented by partnerships with education institutions, which introduce young people to industrial experience.

This day also saw the presentation of a commemorative book and the documentary series “A Vision That Transcends,” which will be broadcast on TV4.
Guanajuato Puerto Interior is part of the Guanajuato SUMA vision, which seeks to connect investment, talent and local businesses.

Former governors Carlos Medina Plascencia, Juan Manuel Oliva Ramirez, Juan Carlos Romero Hicks, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, and former Mexican President Vicente Fox Quesada attended this event.
“Our deepest gratitude to those who built the infrastructure of Guanajuato Puerto Interior, to those who made it grow, and to those who at different times have helped consolidate it,” said Governor Libia Dennise.
