From paying their vehicle registration renewal to walking away with a car and checks for up to 200,000 pesos. That’s how 298 Guanajuatense residents experienced it, winning prizes in the “You Win Because You Comply” raffle held by the Guanajuato State Tax Administration Service (SATEG), designed to reward and recognize their efforts in fulfilling their State obligations.
As part of the People’s Government led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, the Finance Secretary and SATEG put people at the heart of every decision. Therefore, the “You Win Because You Pay” Raffle seeks to recognize compliant taxpayers who, through their contributions, help create safe, orderly environments and sound finances in Guanajuato.
At an event held at the SATEG offices in Puerto Interior, more than 600 people from various municipalities gathered to receive from the Secretary of Finance, Hector Salgado Banda, and the Director of SATEG, Sandra Vianney Perez Gomez, under the supervision of the delegate inspector of the Secretary of Governance, 3 trucks, 15 late-model cars, and 280 checks ranging from 5,000 to 200,000 pesos to the winners and their families of the fourth edition of the Raffle, held on May 15.
“Today we celebrate something much more important: the responsibility, commitment, and trust of thousands of Guanajuatenses who promptly pay their taxes. Since 2023, SATEG has recognized nearly a thousand responsible taxpayers who consistently renew their vehicle registration,” said the Secretary in the awards ceremony.
Salgado also noted the work of SATEG over the past five and a half years, with results such as the increase in Guanajuato’s own revenues, which has improved fiscal autonomy from 8.5% in 2018 to 14% in 2025.
The Secretary acknowledged the results of the “Compliance is Easy” strategy, which modernized tax collection and brought services closer to citizens efficiently through 47 taxpayer service offices throughout the State, nearly 3,000 authorized payment points, online payments through the Finance web platform, 135 Guanajuato Electronic Procedures Kiosks, a mobile kiosk, and the Digital Kiosk App.
“With the support of Governor Libia Dennise, the raffle was strengthened by increasing the prizes from 6 million pesos to more than 10 million, and nearly 100 more people won prizes. However, this raffle is made possible thanks to the contributions of the people of Guanajuato, because that is how the State can collect the resources it needs for these and other services and benefits that improve their quality of life.”
