The creativity, talent, and energy of Guanajuato’s youth were on full display in the work tour in Romita at the First Art and Culture Showcase of the Comprehensive High Schools of Guanajuato (BIG), a space where more than a thousand students shared artistic, cultural, and sporting expressions that reflect their comprehensive education and the development of their skills.

The People’s Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, noted that the Comprehensive High Schools represent one of the most important education projects of her administration, providing opportunities to young people who previously faced difficulties in continuing their upper secondary education.

“This shows that dreams do come true. We couldn’t allow young people to finish high school without finding a place to continue building their dreams,” the Governor said.

The State Governor highlighted that this educational model, created in Guanajuato, incorporates sports, artistic and cultural activities that strengthen the development of students, and that, starting next school year, it will incorporate micro-credentials to certify skills and knowledge that facilitate their entry into the labor market or the continuation of their studies.

The Secretary of Education of Guanajuato, Luis Ignacio Sánchez Gómez noted that the model currently has 26 campuses and more than 3,000 students, and announced that 40 new education centers will be added for the next school year to expand coverage in Guanajuato.
