Guanajuato closed August with 1 million 131 thousand 460 workers insured before the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).
During that month, 5,581 workers joined formal employment, a figure that represented a monthly growth of 0.5% and placed Guanajuato in fourth place nationally for the number of insured workers incorporated during August.
In the year-on-year comparison, Guanajuato registered 6,834 additional jobs compared to August 2025, reflecting the State’s ability to maintain a solid base of formal employment.
This behavior reflects the strength and diversity of the State economy, with job growth in activities such as:
- Services for businesses, individuals and households; commerce; social services; construction; transport; metal products; leather and footwear; chemical industry; non-metallic minerals; extractive industry; paper and wood; machinery and equipment; electrical industry and beverages, among other
The People’s Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, has established as a priority that economic growth translates into more opportunities for people and better living conditions for families.
In this sense, the new economic policy Guanajuato SUMA articulates actions to strengthen employment, investment, talent, businesses and production chains, with a vision that seeks to bring the benefits of economic development to all 46 municipalities.
The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, highlighted that Guanajuato’s economic strength is built on the capacity of its productive sectors, its companies, and, most importantly, its people.
With more than 1.13 million insured workers, Guanajuato maintains a solid labor base and a diversified economy, with a capacity to generate opportunities in different productive activities.
