Developers of the Future open new opportunities

IECA, SABES and Fundación VICI worked together to bring 120 courses to young students of 17 high schools in eight municipalities

For 10 months, 1,381 young students learned new skills for their life, their studies and their future

Learning something new can change the way a person sees their future. With this idea in mind, the State Institute of Training (IECA) , the Advanced System of High School and Higher Education (SABES), and the VICI Foundation provided training to young people from 17 high schools in eight municipalities through the “Developers of the Future” project.

For 10 months, 1,381 young students participated in 120 courses on life planning, digital skills, and various trades. They learned subjects such as cell phone repair, electricity, electronics, soldering, baking, plumbing, nursing assistance, computer-aided design, and basic robot programming, among other.

This effort is also part of Guanajuato SUMA, A New Direction for Our People, the strategy promoted by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo so that the growth of Guanajuato is reflected in better opportunities for people.

The goal was simple: to give them more tools to decide what they want to do after high school, whether it’s continue their studies, look for a job, learn a trade, or start their own business. As a result, 3,746 training certificates were awarded.

“Personally, I really enjoyed this experience because I learned things I didn’t know before that can be useful to me later on; it also helped me to get to know my abilities a little better and to think about what I want for my future,” said Daniel Alejandro, a student who was benefited.

“Each one was different, but I believe that they all taught us lessons that we can use for our school and for our daily lives,” said Guadalupe Avila Garcia, another of the young participants.

“Young people already have these tools that were provided to them during these 10 months; therefore, at IECA we want to continue supporting them. We are going to create new projects,” said Catalina Quiroz Martinez, director of the IECA Purisima del Rincon campus, representing the Government of the People.

“These results are precisely the capacity that you received to not only have it on a personal level, because human beings are fundamentally dedicated to the common good, to the good of their community, to the good of their family and especially to the good of Guanajuato and the good of Mexico,” said Alberto de la Luz Socorro Diosdado, general director of SABES. 

“We often have internet references, but having a close reference from a person who comes to train them, to share their experience, those are the instructors who came from IECA and whom I am very grateful to,” said the president of the VICI Foundation, Gerardo Nava.

“Developers of the Future” was born from a collaboration agreement signed by IECA, Fundación VICI, and SABES on November 19, 2025, with an investment of 2,241,280 pesos. The project was part of the “Touching Hearts” initiative, promoted by the Secretary of the New Beginning and Fundacion VICI.

Preparing young people means giving them more opportunities to take advantage of those opportunities, find a good job, continue studying, or start their own project.
