Guanajuato ranks first nationally with the highest percentage of the population that declares that they trust their public hospitals, according to the Survey of Satisfaction, Adequate and Dignified Treatment in Medical Care Premises

Guanajuato has the best state health system in Mexico; two more facts that speak to this leadership were recently released.

One is the Survey of Satisfaction, Appropriate and Dignified Treatment in Healthcare Facilities, an instrument that allows for the evaluation of the care experience received and strengthens continuous improvement actions in medical units. Data is collected by two monitors: Citizen Oversight (Citizen Monitoring) and healthcare personnel (Institutional Monitoring) through surveys administered quarterly that evaluate outpatient, inpatient, and emergency departments. This system is operated nationally by the General Direction of Quality and Education in Health (DGCES).

And the second point is that Guanajuato remains among the States with the best performance in Mexico in terms of transparency. It is among the top three states, ranking within the “National Excellence” group of the Transparency Index of Health Spending in the Federal States.

Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo presented this information on the program “Connecting with the People,” where she discussed the work being done to address Dengue and Measles, as well as the actions being carried out in the Hearing Rehabilitation program.
The achievement of national leadership is due to a sustained effort and a commitment to continuous improvement. Gabriel Cortes Alcala, the Secretary of Health of Guanajuato emphasized that the State has adequate facilities, equipment, and, above all, highly qualified and dedicated staff committed to provide high-quality, compassionate care.
Doctor Adolfo Valdez Escobedo, Director of Epidemiological Surveillance, discussed the strategies being implemented in addressing measles, one of which is vaccination, for which more than 220,000 doses have been administered to protect families in Guanajuato.

The Governor noted the Hearing Rehabilitation program because it changes people’s lives. Early detection is crucial, as it can significantly impact a child’s future.
Doctor Gloria Adriana Martinez Macias, Coordinator of the Cochlear Implant Program at the Leon Pediatric Specialty Hospital, said that early detection allows for timely initiation of the most appropriate treatment. It is a free program.

Libia Dennise reported that 283 cochlear and bone-anchored hearing implants have been placed in the last 9 years.
The Governor commented that, regarding dengue fever, significant progress has been made, with cases decreasing by 83% in 2016 compared to last year. As of June 22nd, only 17 cases have been confirmed in Guanajuato this year.

Libia Dennise said that brigade members have visited more than 831,000 homes and fogged more than 24,000 hectares. “You, in your homes, are our best allies in eliminating mosquito breeding grounds by allowing the brigades to help you.”
