Guanajuato inaugurated its stand at the 20th edition of the Xcaret Festival of Life and Death Traditions, a space dedicated to sharing with national and international visitors the cultural, gastronomic, artisanal and artistic richness of its seven tourist regions, as the guest state of honor of this celebration.

On behalf of the People’s Government, Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo led the inauguration of this Guanajuatense participation, with authorities from Quintana Roo and representatives of Grupo Xcaret, in one of the most important cultural events in the country, which during its first 19 editions has received more than 780,000 visitors, brought together 15,000 artists and bearers of tradition and presented more than 6,400 shows, rituals and performances.

The Guanajuato stand becomes a window to discover the traditions of its seven tourist regions, bringing visitors closer to the history, flavors, trades and talent of its people.
Among its main attractions is the monumental altar “Caminos de Guanajuato”, developed by the Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), which proposes a tour through the land, flavors, trades, history and music of the state.

The flavors of Guanajuato also take center stage with the participation of traditional cooks from various municipalities, who share recipes, knowledge, and skills passed down through generations. They are joined by artisans, companies bearing the Marca Guanajuato emblem, and an artistic program featuring the Ballet Folklorico and student musical groups from the University of Guanajuato, the Entremeses Cervantinos, Las Palomitas Serranas, and the Lola Lince Experimental Dance Company.

The representation is complemented by four regional altars installed at the Archaeological Site, dedicated to the Bajío, the South, the North and the Laja-Bajío Industrial zone, as well as by the ephemeral art of Uriangato, with the carpet-making tradition that transforms materials and colors into collective expressions of identity.
The People’s Government, through the Secretary of Tourism and Identity, Maria Guadalupe Robles Leon, promotes this participation as part of the vision to strengthen tourism with identity, open new avenues of promotion and generate opportunities for those who preserve and share the cultural heritage of Guanajuato.

Through this presence in Xcaret, Guanajuato invites you to discover its World Heritage Cities, Magic Towns, Guanajuato Charms and destinations in its seven tourist regions.
