A bustling parade of 60 contingents and 900 participants, packed crowds at the fairgrounds entrance, and a mesmerizing fireworks display all came together to usher in the rain and mark the grand opening of the October 2026 Festivities.

The group Los Angeles de Charly got thousands of attendees dancing on opening night, following an opening performance by Banda Purisima.

Mayor Roberto Garcia Urbano officially inaugurated the Purisima del Rincon October Festivities 2026, which will run from October 8 through October 23.
Local residents showcased the diversity, identity, and vibrant energy of the municipality:
- From ballet slippers and high heels to sneakers and traditional papier-mache dolls, filling the streets with rhythm, brass band music, lights, and color

During the opening ceremony, Mayor Roberto Garcia Urbano thanked local families and visitors for their presence and trust, highlighting the importance of building community through traditions honoring the Senor de la Columna.

“It is a true pleasure to see the main square packed to kick off our fair. I am grateful for the support of the State Governor, as well as the presence of our local authorities and the organizing committee. These 16 days of festivities are designed for family gatherings, preserving our roots, and proudly celebrating the talent that defines our identity,” the Mayor said.

Joining him on the main stage were the Undersecretary of Identity and Development, David Ayala Saucedo; Local Deputy Noemi Marquez; the President of the Municipal DIF Board, Enriqueta Martinez Lopez; the Fair Committee led by Julio Jimenez; as well as members of the City Council.

An emotional highlight of the evening included an artistic performance by the Violins of Aguascalientes at the Cultural Pavilion, along with the debut of the official festival anthem, “Purisima del Rincon,” composed and performed by Mariano Trujillo Morales. The song was accompanied by a commemorative audiovisual projection coordinated by Alejandro Hernandez Ibarra from the Municipal Tourism office, honoring the municipality’s key figures and cultural ambassadors.

The grand finale of the opening night at the People’s Theater arrived to the romantic rhythms of Los Angeles de Charly, who had thousands of attendees singing and dancing, kicking off 16 days of concerts, culture, gastronomy, and family togetherness in Purisima del Rincon.
