Exports from Guanajuato to England grew by 193.9% during the first quarter of 2026

Guanajuato continues to strengthen its presence in international markets and consolidates its export-oriented focus. During the first quarter of 2026, the State’s exports to England reached a value exceeding $10.5 million, representing a 193.9 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to estimates from the Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (COFOCE), this commercial dynamism was driven by 47 Guanajuatense companies, which together generate employment for 30,587 families, reflecting how foreign trade translates into opportunities for economic development and well-being for the people of Guanajuato.
These results are consistent with the vision of the People’s Government , led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, to promote an economy that generates more opportunities for businesses, strengthens employment, and takes products made in Guanajuato to new international markets.
Silao positioned itself as the leading exporting municipality to England, registering sales of $6.8 million during the first quarter of the year, with a growth of 374.2 percent compared to the same period in 2015. Cortazar, Irapuato, Leon, and Celaya also stood out, municipalities that continue to consolidate their participation in this European market.
The export offer of Guanajuato to England remain highly diversified. Among the main products shipped are automobiles and light trucks, tires, automotive transmission parts, automotive components, and condiments and seasonings, which saw some of the largest growth during the period. Other notable exports include electrical products, machinery for the rubber and plastics industry, measuring instruments, footwear, and hardware.
Diversifying international markets allows companies from different sectors to find new growth opportunities, strengthen their competitiveness, and generate greater value for the State’s production chains.
Through support for businesses, trade promotion, and connections with strategic markets, Guanajuato continues to consolidate itself as one of the states with the greatest export vocation in the country, taking the quality, innovation, and talent of its companies to the world.
