Security is an essential condition for the automotive industry to continue growing in Guanajuato, therefore, companies and authorities must work together, said the Secretary of Security and Peace, Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez.

In his participation in the 2026 Asset Security Symposium, organized by the Guanajuato Automotive Cluster, the Secretary highlighted the need to protect investments, jobs, merchandise, infrastructure, information and, above all, the people who make it possible for this industry to function every day.
“Guanajuato is an industrial powerhouse, and that strength also commits us to rise to its challenges; but we know that this trust is not maintained on its own. It is built with results, with reliable institutions, and with the ability to anticipate risks,” he said.

Gonzalez explained that, to respond to the challenges, a comprehensive strategy is required that goes beyond police presence and incorporates intelligence, investigation, information analysis, prevention and coordination by authorities and productive sectors as established by CONFIA.
“This vision has allowed us to move forward and achieve results that are now recognized by the Federal Authorities themselves, who have pointed to Guanajuato as an example of what can be achieved when there is coordination, intelligence and a willingness to do things differently,” he said.

Alfredo Arzola, general director of the Guanajuato Automotive Cluster, highlighted that security challenges have evolved: in addition to protecting facilities, it is necessary to guarantee operational continuity.
“We used to understand security as something reactive, and now we understand it as a task of anticipation and joint collaboration; obtaining results is only possible if we collaborate,” he said.

Arzola called for considering security as an investment and turning the exchange of information and trust between the different actors into preventive actions and concrete results. In the Symposium, attendees received training, as well as witnessing technology demonstrations such as cameras, drones, and sensors to place in their companies.
Participating in this event were military and civil, State and Municipal Officiales.
