The State’s participation in the main gathering of the meetings industry in Latin America strengthens the attraction of events, congresses and investments for Guanajuato

Thanks to the coordinated work of the Guanajuato Tourism Promotion Council (COFOTUR) and its Board of Directors, Guanajuato strengthens its international presence at FIEXPO Latin America 2026, the most important gathering of the meetings, congresses, conventions and incentive travel industry in Latin America, held in San Jose, Costa Rica.
This participation is part of the tourism promotion and marketing strategy promoted by COFOTUR, an organization that works jointly with the Secretary of Tourism and Identity of the People’s Government, to position Guanajuato in national and international markets, generating new business opportunities for destinations, companies and tourism service providers in Guanajuato.
The presence at FIEXPO represents a strategic platform to promote Guanajuato as one of Mexico’s most competitive destinations for hosting congresses, conventions, incentive trips, and corporate events. Through an intensive work agenda, the Guanajuatense delegation is showcasing the State’s infrastructure, connectivity, hotel capacity, and wide range of tourism offer to international buyers, professional event organizers, associations, and decision-makers.
During the event, specialized business meetings are held to showcase Guanajuato’s strengths as a destination for large-scale events. These meetings generate concrete opportunities to attract future congresses, conventions, and international gatherings that will have a positive impact on the local and regional economy.
The agenda also includes participation in training and professional development events such as FIEXPO Connecting Minds, the Latin American Political Forum, and the Convention Bureau Challenge, where trends, success stories, and strategies are shared to strengthen the competitiveness of destinations in the global meetings market.
Participation also aims to showcase Guanajuato’s rich tourism, culture, and identity to strategic markets in Latin America and other regions of the world.
