With the firm commitment to continue positioning Guanajuato at the forefront of global technology, the People’s Government, through the Innovation Institute, led the work tour with NETVAL (Network for the Valorization of University Research) which is the main Italian network of Technology Transfer Offices.

The visit consisted of a scientific and academic delegation from Italy and its Embassy in Mexico, whose main purpose is to identify strategic synergies and strengthen ties between government, industry and academia.

The interest of global powers like Italy in the Guanajuato ecosystem is a direct result of the public policy of the People’s Government, which has demonstrated that in the State the transfer of technology and knowledge is carried out successfully, translating into practical, socially relevant solutions aimed at transforming the reality of families.

“This international collaboration isn’t just on paper; its true success lies in the fact that it translates into accessible technology that reaches our producers and communities directly. As a public policy of the People’s Government, we work to ensure that innovation, science, and technology are not a privilege for a select few, but rather a daily tool to improve the quality of life for all Guanajuatense residents,” said Juan Antonio Reus Montano, Director General of the Innovation Institute.

Roberto Marani, Scientific Attache of the Italian Embassy for Mexico and Panama, said that they arrived in Guanajuato with a delegation of ten professors and the technology transfer manager of the NETVAL Network, to promote policies that can help research to move beyond the laboratories and directly impact industry.
“We chose Guanajuato and the Innovation Institute, with whom we have a long history of cooperation, because we are very familiar with all the efforts you make within the Guanajuato system to encourage and strengthen innovation and all the research to come out of the laboratories,” said Marani.

“Netval began in Italy with the clear idea of helping universities and research centers in their technology transfer process. Our central purpose is to take ideas, technologies, and patents from the laboratories directly to the market, thus achieving a real and transformative exchange between academia and the business sector,” said Chiara Di Guardo, President of NETVAL and professor at the University of Cagliari.

The international delegation had a work day at the CINVESTAV Irapuato facilities, where the authorities were formally welcomed and the center’s first scientific experiences were presented.
Directors from various universities and research centers joined the activities at the Innovation District headquarters. During this meeting in the Innovation District, a total of 10 success stories in technology transfer developed by research centers and higher education institutions with companies in our State were presented to NETVAL.

To conclude the agenda with the production sector, the international delegation traveled to the vicinity of Guanajuato Inland Port for a strategic tour of the Pirelli automotive plant. There, the delegation was received by its CEO and General Director, Enrico Verdini, reinforcing the vision of Guanajuato as a highly attractive ecosystem for innovation and advanced technology transfer.
