Guanajuato is participating with the presence of its Destinations like:
- Celaya, Irapuato, Leon, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende and Silao

The goal is to promote the State in the National Congress of the Meetings Industry (CNIR) 2026, one of the most important meetings in Mexico that was inaugurated in Queretaro.

In line with the Guanajuato SUMA strategy of the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity, Maria Guadalupe Robles Leon, reaffirmed the relevance of these meetings to continue strengthening Guanajuato’s presence, since at the same time as alliances are formed, coordination is articulated with the actors of the Meetings Industry to continue positioning our destinations.
“For Guanajuato, this meeting represents a platform to strengthen commercial relationships, present the State’s specialized offer, and generate new opportunities to attract congresses, conventions, exhibitions, corporate events, and incentive trips,” said the Secretary of Tourism and Identity.

This year, CNIR is held from September 8th to 12th in Queretaro and brings together more than 800 leaders from the MICE sector, meeting planners, executives, specialized suppliers and representatives of tourist destinations.
The Meetings Industry represents, according to information of the CNIR organization, 1.84 percent of the national GDP and generates more than one million jobs, which highlights its relevance to the economy and to the generation of opportunities in destinations.

Through the Guanajuato SUMA strategy, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI) coordinates efforts between the public, private and tourism sectors to generate new business opportunities, attract congresses and large meetings, and make each event a catalyst for tourism, economic development and well-being for our people.
The State’s participation, through the Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), includes a strategy for destination promotion, brand presence and the generation of business opportunities, with the presentation of the offer in its diferente destinations.

“This strategy seeks not only to attract new events to the State, but also to strengthen the value chain involved in each event: hotels, restaurants, venues, agencies, operators, transporters, service providers and the entire tourism community that benefits from the arrival of visitors,” explained the Secretary of Tourism and Identity of Guanajuato.

SECTURI reaffirms that participation in the CNIR 2026 is part of this path to build alliances and forge new paths , positioning Guanajuato as a destination capable of hosting major events and as a State that adds resources so that the Meetings Industry continues to generate development, competitiveness, and well-being for its people.
