Officials listen to claims of producers from Purisima

State, Municipality and the Federation established a permanent dialogue board with producers from Purisima del Rincon, and present information about the route of the passenger train

Producers and the Mayor of Purisima del Rincon declare that they have no opposition to this federal project, but request a review of the route

Authorities from all three levels of government held a dialogue with producers from the municipality of Purisima del Rincon, with the main objective of listening to and addressing their concerns regarding the route of the passenger train in the Irapuato-Guadalajara section.

The meeting, led by the Secretary of Government of Guanajuato, Jorge Daniel Jimenez Lona, also included Aaron Josue Ramos Miranda, representative of the Institutional and Heritage Liaison Unit of the SICT; Irma Leticia Gonzalez, General Director of the Center of the Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation in Guanajuato; and Roberto Garcia Urbano, Mayor of Purisima del Rincon, as well as Juan Pablo Perez Beltran, Secretary of Public Works and Marisol Suarez Correa, Secretary of Agriculture of the Government of the People.

“I appreciate the dialogue and willingness to engage in this important project for the country and for Guanajuato. Governor Libia Dennise instructed me to convey her greetings and assure you that we are working in synergy with the Federal Government. The doors are open, and we are aware of the issues. Therefore, the Governor requested that the President come to this working session with information so that you can transparently understand what is and is not part of this important project and have all your questions answered,” said the Secretary of Government.

Jimenez Lona noted that these projects benefit the population in general, as they open the door to new opportunities for a better quality of life, which translates into jobs for people, time gained for families when visiting their loved ones, and safety in transportation.

Following this, Aaron Josue Ramos Miranda, representative of the Institutional and Heritage Linkage Unit of the SICT, detailed the technical information and the scope of the process for defining the route, the release of the right of way as well as the payment of compensation.

Each of the producers from Purísima del Rincón expressed their doubts, points of view, and concerns about this project, while the Mayor said that there is no opposition to the train passing through this Municipality; what they seek is to improve the route, in order to have the least impact on this area considered productively agricultural.

During the work meeting, the authorities informed the producers that as of today there is no authorized route in the municipality of Purisima del Rincon, as these are in the process of analysis and review.

Among the agreements reached, it is worth noting that this work group will be permanently established, this area will be recognized as an agricultural zone, they reiterate that there is no opposition to the passenger train project from the producers, and the necessary alternatives will be sought for the route that generate the least possible impact on the population of Purisima.
