Guanajuato continues to create opportunities to connect its MSMEs with buyers from the United States, a strategic market and trade ally that offers opportunities to strengthen their export capacity and grow.

The visit by Broughton Belts representatives reflects the continued interest and trust in the quality, talent, and production capacity of Guanajuato, as well as the possibility of building direct, long-term relationships with American buyers.

The business meeting with Broughton Belts, was held at the offices of the Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade of the State of Guanajuato (COFOCE), at CICEG.
During this event, 10 Guanajuato-based MSMEs specializing in the manufacture of hats, belts, and leather goods participated, giving them the opportunity to present their products, learn about the requirements of the US market, and establish new business relationships.

Under the vision of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, the People’s Government promotes stronger companies so that economic growth translates into more jobs, income and well-being for Guanajuatense families.

Randy Broughton, owner of Broughton Belts, explained that he chose Guanajuato after researching the Mexican market and that he is looking for direct suppliers of belts, bags, and hats: “I’m looking for quality above all else. I was looking for something more direct and personal. This was exactly the opportunity I was hoping for: I was able to see many products quickly and efficiently, and now I’ll be able to visit the factories, which I’m very excited about.”

Participating MSMEs are allowed to learn firsthand about the needs of buyers, present their products, and open doors to international markets that they could hardly reach on their own.
“It’s a great help to have this filter provided by COFOCE, because it’s difficult for companies to find buyers and know if they’re truly interested. This connection is a huge help and should continue to be promoted to strengthen the hat industry and contribute to the economy of the city and the country,” said Juan Carlos Gomez of Sombreros Valtierra.

COFOCE connects Guanajuato’s talent and productive capacity with the world, so that exports translate into stronger MSMEs, more jobs, and better opportunities.
