The 6th SME Business Challenge propels 8 Guanajuatense companies towards the Miami Americas Food & Beverage Show 2026

The event will be held from September 14-16, 2026, in Miami, Florida

Eight Guanajuatense companies are refining their business offer to break into the United States market, as part of the 6th SME Business Challenge, promoted by the People’s Government, through the Secretary of Economy and the Coordinator of Foreign Trade Promotion of the State of Guanajuato (COFOCE).

This exercise seeks to strengthen their commercial capabilities and prepare their participation in the Miami Americas Food & Beverage Show 2026, where they will have the opportunity to connect with international buyers and distributors.

As part of the new economic policy “Guanajuato SUMA”, promoted by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, strategies are being strengthened to bring MSMEs closer to new markets and generate opportunities for talent and products made in Guanajuato to grow, reach more consumers and contribute to the prosperity of Guanajuatense families.

“The SME Business Challenge represents an opportunity for our companies to listen to each other, question themselves, and strengthen their offer before venturing out into the world. We want Guanajuato’s micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to not only have quality products, but also the commercial capacity to compete, generate business, and open new markets. Preparing them today means creating more opportunities for them and for the families that depend on their growth,” said Fabricio Ibarra Rocha, Undersecretary for the Development of MSMEs of the Secretary of Economy.

Luis Antonio Vargas Zavala, General Director of COFOCE, highlighted the importance of generating this type of exercise as part of the support that Guanajuato companies receive to advance in their internationalization processes.

“In Guanajuato, we want our companies not only to have quality products, but also to be prepared to compete and grow in international markets. This SME Challenge is part of that support: identifying their potential, strengthening their capabilities, and connecting them with new business opportunities. Through Marca Guanajuato Internacional, we want to recognize the companies that are taking this step and showcase to the world the quality, identity, and talent produced in our State,” said Vargas Zavala.

Preparing companies to compete in international markets is part of COFOCE’s “Export Without Borders” program, and is complemented by the evolution of Marca Guanajuato into Marca Guanajuato Internacional, a strategy that seeks to support and promote Guanajuatense companies that have the necessary capabilities to enter and grow in global markets.

From Guanajuato to Miami

The 6th SME Business Challenge is preparing eight companies from Guanajuato to participate in the Miami Americas Food & Beverage Show 2026, one of the most relevant specialized meetings for the food and beverage industry in the United States.

The event operates under a B2B model and brings together buyers, distributors, and industry professionals seeking new products to incorporate into their stores, restaurants, and marketing channels in the United States and the Caribbean.

The eight companies participating in this sixth challenge are:

  • Apicola Cardui, Salsas Lixa Artesanal, Santo Apetito, Kiuva, Guenba, Tequila Corralejo, Mezcal Salvaje Tentacion and Alma Caminera

This strategy builds on the five SME Business Challenges held this year, in which Guanajuato companies have been prepared to participate in important international platforms in Japan, Canada, Guatemala and the United States.
