The Secretary of Women and the State Institute for Training (IECA) launched a program of 58 free courses for women in the 29 municipalities with LIBRE Centers.

The program offers up to 1,160 training opportunities and includes topics in technology, trades, and community development.

Itzel Balderas, Secretary for Women, explained that these training programs aim to strengthen participants’ skills and expand their opportunities for personal and economic development. The courses will be held at IECA facilities and in community spaces, and include materials and an official certificate.

“At the Secretary of Women, we want more and more women to have access to tools that open doors to formal employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurship. That’s why we’re offering these free training sessions in each municipality, to strengthen women’s economic autonomy, but above all, to guarantee their right to development under equal conditions. This is part of the empowerment process promoted by the People’s Government and Governor Libia Dennise GarcIa MuNoz Ledo,” Itzel Balderas sAId.

“As women, we sometimes face difficult situations that can make us doubt our abilities, or all that we are capable of achieving, that is why having spaces like this is so important, because they remind us that we have the right to undertake, learn and fulfill our dreams and make our own decisions,” said Jessica Ivette Anguiano, a beneficiary of the course.

“We are happy to start this course, which is currently in vogue: artificial intelligence and this whole new way of doing things, how through a computer or through an algorithm, we can create a campaign, we can be more efficient, we can have more ideas,” said Joshua Harim Mendoza Jasso, director of the IECA Irapuato campus.

The program has an investment of close to 2 million pesos, coming from the Comprehensive Care Program for the Well-being of Women (PAIBIM) 2026.

Each LIBRE Center will offer two courses, and can accept 20 participants in each. The program is aimed at women of different ages and backgrounds, including those living in rural communities.

The available options include:

  • Technology and digital employment:  artificial intelligence, digital marketing, computing and basic Office skills
  • Trades and productive activities:  basic mechanics of automobiles and motorcycles, barbering, sewing, pastry making, baking, professional cooking, nail application and crocheting
  • Wellbeing and local projects:  leadership and community participation, alternative medicine, cosmetics and artisanal supplies, makeup, soap making and aromatic candles
