Education opens opportunities: Libia

Governor attends the welcome ceremony for courses and annual report of activities of the UG.

Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo attended the opening ceremony for new courses and the annual report presentation at the University of Guanajuato. The university community comprises 48,359 high school and university students.

“Today we welcome thousands of students, each with a story, life projects, and strong reasons to build their future,” said Libia Dennise.

“Don’t forget that education remains the most powerful tool to open opportunities, break down barriers, and build a better life,” said the Governor, who noted that 55 percent of the student body at the University of Guanajuato is made up of women.

Libia Dennise congratulated the Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Claudia Susana Gomez Lopez, on her activity report, which reflects hard work, vision, leadership, and results. She also extended her appreciation to the entire university community: students, professors, researchers, and administrative and management staff.

“There are people who dedicate their talent and vocation to ensure that this institution continues to grow and strengthen its academic and social prestige. And we have seen the results here, and they are undeniable. Congratulations,” said Libia.

Among the main achievements reported by the Rector are the opening of a new extension of the Moroleon High School in Yuriria, expanding education opportunities for more young people in that area. Also noteworthy is the university’s national leadership in research, with 760 members in the National System of Researchers and Artists, plus earning 15 new university patents, which transform knowledge into innovation and innovation into well-being for society.
