Staff from the State Institute of Public Security Training (INFOSPE) participated in the study tour “Best Practices in Managing Police Academies”, in the cities of Boston, Massachusetts, and Concord, New Hampshire.

The People’s Government continues to strengthen the professionalization of security institutions through international cooperation.

Guanajuato benefited from its participation in the Security and Law Enforcement Exchange Program (LESEP) for Mexico, an initiative promoted by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the United States Department of State.
This experience took place from May 17 to 22 and allowed participants to strengthen their knowledge through direct exchange with specialists, academics and US police authorities, as well as to learn about successful models of training, management and professional development in public safety.

Academic activities and working meetings were held at prestigious institutions, including:
- Northeastern University and the Cambridge-Northeastern Police Academy, the Marlborough Police Academy (MPTC), the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council, the Manchester Police Department, and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Central Office

Through this participation, INFOSPE seeks to incorporate best practices into the planning, development, and operation of police training programs. Furthermore, it made it posible to establish collaborative relationships with academies and institutions in North America to promote future exchanges of experiences and methodologies aimed at strengthening public safety.
The Secretary of Security and Peace reaffirmed its commitment to the comprehensive training of police officers in Guanajuato, promoting their professional development and consolidating strategic alliances that contribute to build a safer and more peaceful State.
