Families in the El Toro community in Purisima del Rincon decided to participate and collaborate with the Municipal Government in the Day of the Dead tradition, including the use of the traditional cempasuchil flower and the creation of the altar dedicated to “the angels” (deceased children).

Purisima del Rincon is committed to promote values and traditions. Showing solidarity with the local population and its identity, a group of more than 70 people, including parents, students, and teachers from the Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla preschool, as well as Municipal Public Services personnel, jointly decorated the local kiosk in El Toro.

The Day of the Dead celebrations in the Municipality of Purisima del Rincon, respecting the feelings, value, and cultural treasures, with the sensitivity of local families.

Youngsters Juan and Santiago explained to the people of El Toro the importance of dedicating the Day of the Dead altar to the “little angels.”

Roberto Garcia Urbano, the Mayor of Purisima del Rincon, spoke about the need to support education and the formation of solidarity with families in preserving national values and identity. Garcia said that their presence must be felt not only in the municipal council but also in the possibility of providing direct support in more areas of the territory.

The activity began in El Toro and continues with events in Las Praderas, where also, at the community kiosk, personnel worked with parents, educators, teachers, and Municipal Public Services staff, representing the Municipality.

Public Services personnel collaborate in the activities because they are experts in enhancing local identity with the arrangement of plants like cempasuchil and the distribution of special cut paper banners.

In El Toro, 60 candles, cut-out paper, and 120 cempasuchil flowers were used, while the traditions were explained by students from the Miguel Hidalgo school.
