The People’s Government is strengthening the economy of families that make up the formal and semi-fixed commerce sector in Guanajuato; various associations of merchants and market vendors have formalized their access to strategic credit lines.

Ivon Padilla Hernandez, General Director of Financiera y Apoyos Tu Puedes Guanajuato, said that access to these resources not only represents a flow of capital, but also a commitment to institutional strength.

“Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo’s priority is to provide merchants and market vendors with the necessary tools and institutional support so that this commercial strength translates into greater competitiveness and professionalization that maintains Guanajuato as a national benchmark in commerce and supply,” said Ivon Padilla.
In a formal ceremony, the People’s Finance Institution presented awards to the leaders of the merchants’ union who have maintained an impeccable payment history, highlighting that punctuality is the driving force that allows funds to continue circulating to benefit more Guanajuatense residents.

The recognized associations are from several municipalities of Guanajuato. “This recognition is for those who understand that solvency opens doors to larger-scale projects,” said Padilla.
Representatives of the unions of street vendors and public markets in Romita, Silao, Guanajuato, Leon and other municipalities agreed that technical financing has allowed a substantial improvement in competitiveness against large commercial chains.

“I address my fellow merchants in the State to tell them to take advantage of this opportunity that Governor Libia Dennise is giving us through these support programs, and not to be afraid to grow and move forward, to truly give our businesses the focus they deserve,” said Antonia Ayala Flores, General Secretary of the Penjamo Merchants Union AC
“Here in Abasolo, many merchants have benefited and are moving ahead, since we don’t need handouts, but rather a little push to improve our sales,” said Maria Veronica Ramirez, President of the Civil Association “Citizens United for the Progress of Mexican Families” in the municipality of Abasolo.

“They help you through the entire process; if you have any questions, they even go back to you, and so on. All these changes that Tu Puedes Guanajuato has implemented are precisely in response to Governor Libia Dennise’s vision and a very specific commitment with the Guanajuatenses,” said Griselda Velazquez, General Director of Consumption and Supply of the Secretary of Economy.
With the integration of more merchants into these programs, it is expected that popular commerce will achieve an effective improvement towards more professional management models.
