The People’s Government and Romita are united for nature with the “Adopt a Tree 2026” event

In the community of Lourdes, in Romita, the Reforestation Day “Adopt a Tree 2026” was carried out, coordinated with the Municipal Presidency through the Directorate of Urban Development and Ecology, with the Secretary of Water and Environment.
At this event, 100 trees were planted in common public spaces, such as the soccer field and its access road, to strengthen green areas and promoting people’s participation in conservation actions.
The event was attended by Jose Lara Lona, Secretary of Water and Environment, and Pedro Tanamachi Reyes, Mayor of Romita, as well as local officials and inhabitants.
The Secretary of Water and Environment emphasized that this day was not just a symbolic activity, but a concrete action that reflects the love of the people of Lourdes for their land and for the future of their children.
Lara emphasized the fundamental role of the Secretary in strengthening community reforestation programs throughout Guanajuato, such as the Forest Ecosystem Strengthening Program, which promotes the restoration of forest areas through temporary employment and with the participation of inhabitants in the communities.
This effort is part of the vision of the People’s Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, who has placed environmental conservation as a priority focus of her government which, through the Secretary of Water and Environment, reaffirmed its conviction that the development of Guanajuato will always be in harmony with nature.
