The OXXO retail chain announced a new investment in Guanajuato that includes the opening of 66 new stores during 2026, which will generate more than 400 direct jobs and strengthen its presence in the State.

This announcement is the result of collaboration of the private sector and the People’s Government, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, to promote an environment that favors investment, job creation and the strengthening of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

During a working meeting with the Secretary of Economy of Guanajuato, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, OXXO executives highlighted the collaboration and permanent dialogue with the State Government, elements that have allowed them to consolidate expansion projects that generate economic and social value for Guanajuatense families.

The company reported that this growth project includes resources allocated to opening new stores and developing its operations in Guanajuato, bringing its services closer to more families in Guanajuato.

With this commitment, we seek and reaffirm our role as that good neighbor people can trust, always around the corner,” emphasized Cesar Ortega, Regional Operations Manager of OXXO Mexico.

In 2026, the OXXO chain plans to open 66 new stores in various municipalities throughout the State, including Guanajuato City, Leon, and Irapuato, making life easier for people in more communities. This expansion is part of OXXO’s growth strategy and reflects the company’s trust in Guanajuato’s economic dynamism and the potential of its communities.

Currently, OXXO maintains a strong presence in Guanajuato with nearly 1,000 stores in operation and more than 6,400 direct jobs.

The company also highlighted the strengthening of its collaboration with the Secretary of Economy to promote local suppliers, through its participation in the “Industrial Connection” program, which will integrate micro, small and medium-sized Guanajuatense companies with the Marca Guanajuato distinction into its value chain.

“In Guanajuato, we continue to build trust with companies that believe in our people and in the potential of the State. We promote an environment that favors investment, job creation, and the strengthening of SMEs,” said Villasenor Aguilar.
