In order to improve mobility and support the economy of families in the State Capital, the People’s Government announced the expansion of TAG card benefits on the Guanajuato-Silao highway.
Starting April 15, residents will be able to have up to three TAGs per person, increasing the benefit from one to three. The first TAG is free, while the second and third will cost $150 pesos each.
The benefits:
- The toll discount will be increased from 35% to 40%
- Currently, with the 35% discount, the toll is $24.40 pesos
- With the 40% discount, the cost will be $22.51 pesos
The process can be completed directly at the toll booth offices, during business hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Those interested must bring their vehicle, and the original and a copy of their voter ID (INE) with an address in the city of Guanajuato, as well as the vehicle registration card in the name of the person completing the process.
The card is non-transferable and can only be used in registered vehicles. While the device can be used at other toll booths in the country, the preferential discount only applies on the Guanajuato-Silao highway.
The card will be valid for at least two years from its issuance, so those who wish to retain this benefit must comply with the requirements established by the program.
With these actions, the People’s Government reaffirms its commitment to promote more accessible and safe mobility, which contributes to improve the quality of life of the population.
