During the 7th Ordinary Session of the State Council of Public Security (CESP), presided over by the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, equipment worth more than 143 million pesos was delivered to strengthen the municipal corporations of Guanajuato.
“Today we are allocating a record amount of over 143 million pesos, from the State Fund to Strengthen Municipal Public Security (FOEST) and the Fund to Strengthen Public Security Institutions (FOFISP). These resources are reaching all 46 municipalities in the state, with differentiated, responsible, and transparent allocations,” said Libia Dennise.
Delivered through FOEST were:
- 57 pickup trucks equipped as patrol vehicles
- 41 motorcycles
- 142 Tetra-type portable communication radios which will strengthen mobility, response capacity, and coordination of corporations on the field
In addition, the Governor commented, this fund includes training and professional development for law enforcement personnel. And through FOFISP, essential equipment for the protection and performance of law enforcement agencies was also delivered, such as: holsters, tear gas, batons, handcuffs, helmets and ballistic vests, riot shields, and ballistic shields.
“All this equipment has a very clear objective: to allow those who protect us to carry out their work with greater safety, dignity, and better conditions. Every patrol vehicle we deliver, every radio, every vest, represents another opportunity to arrive on time, to prevent crime, to deter crime, and to protect lives,” said Libia Dennise.
The Governor added that none of this would be possible without the work of the State Public Security Council, a space for co-responsibility, dialogue and agreements, where a shared long-term vision is built.
“I want to thank each and every member of the State Council, as well as the authorities, citizens, and mayors for working as a team. Decisions made here demand commitment, legality, transparency, and a deep dedication to public service. Thank you for everything you contribute,” said Libia.
