Guanajuato is participating in the Tianguis Turistico Mexico 2026 with a work agenda focused on consolidating alliances, projecting tourism products with identity and strengthening its positioning in key segments such as meetings, gastronomy, wine tourism, connectivity and cultural experiences.

The day began with the participation of the Secretary of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), Maria Guadalupe Robles Leon, in the conference: GMID Mexico 2026 – Impact of the Meetings Industry; a space in which the importance of this segment for the economic development of destinations and for the strengthening of the tourism value chain was reaffirmed.

“The meetings industry represents a great opportunity for Guanajuato because it generates employment, economic activity, suppliers, and brand positioning; but above all, because it activates an entire value chain that ranges from organization and hospitality to the local talent that makes great gatherings possible,” said the Secretary.

The team of the Secretary made progress on a collaboration agreement with Chiapas for the Guanajuato State Tourism Observatory (OTEG), as well as obtaining pilot tests in information technologies, reinforcing the vision of tourism intelligence, measurement and decision-making with more precise tools.

At the Guanajuato booth, the activity continued with a diverse agenda focused on local products.

Presented were:

  • The Agustina Route, a Lasting Legacy promoted from Yuriria
  • The 2026 Singles Festival in Guanajuato City
  • The 2026 Ceremonial Tortilla, Molcajete, and Gordita Festival in Comonfort
  • The 2026 Ice Cream Fair in Dolores Hidalgo

This agenda was complemented by the presentation of the Guanajuato Guide for Mexico Desconocido, a promotional tool that strengthens the projection of the State based on its tourist, cultural and gastronomic diversity, showing our State as a comprehensive, nearby destination with multiple reasons to travel.

Regarding connectivity and commercial development, Guanajuato held a reunion with airline shareholders and executives, strengthening its dialogue with strategic players in the aviation sector.

Additionally, the Guanajuato 2026 Wine Harvest Program was presented, reaffirming the State’s leadership as a wine-producing powerhouse and a national benchmark for wine tourism.

“The wine from Guanajuato’s Independence Valley is not only enjoyed, it also communicates who we are. In every bottle, in every vine, and in every municipality, there is a living history that strengthens our identity and transforms tourism into an opportunity for our communities,” said Robles Leon.

“Guanajuato is at this Tianguis with a very clear conviction: tourism promotion must translate into alliances, agreements, marketable products, and direct benefits for our communities. We are here to pave the way, but also to consolidate results,” said the head of SECTURI.
