With the aim of strengthening the capabilities of specialized talent and providing companies with greater tools to compete in international markets, the Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (COFOCE) and the Secretary of Economy of the State of Guanajuato are collaborating in the development, implementation and evaluation for the certification of Foreign Trade Assistant.

This strategic alliance seeks to professionalize the people involved in export and import operations, through a formal recognition scheme of knowledge and skills that contributes to the economic development and competitiveness of Guanajuatense companies.

This collaborative work aligns with the vision of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo and the People’s Government, to promote economic growth with a human face, where development translates into more opportunities for people, the strengthening of talent, and the creation of conditions that allow Guanajuatense companies to continue reaching the world.

The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, emphasized that training in foreign trade allows companies to develop a strategic vision to successfully integrate into global value chains and take advantage of the opportunities offered by the international economy.

“Internationalization is no longer an opportunity exclusive to large companies. Today, micro, small, and medium-sized companies in Guanajuato have the potential to compete in global markets, and training is the key that allows them to open that door. Investing in training in foreign trade is investing in stronger, more competitive companies and in a Guanajuato with greater opportunities for growth and prosperity,” emphasized Villaseñor Aguilar.
“The development of specialized talent, the internationalization of our companies, and the strengthening of productive capacities will continue to be pillars of our economic strategy,” she said.
The Director General of COFOCE, Luis Antonio Vargas Zavala, emphasized that economic development and international competitiveness are primarily driven by people and their skills.

“We are convinced that Guanajuato’s international competitiveness is built by developing specialized talent,” said Vargas.
The Director noted that collaboration between institutions allows for the generation of direct benefits for Guanajuatense businesses and families, by providing tools that strengthen their capabilities and enable them to respond to the challenges of an increasingly global economy.

Recognition was also given to the work carried out by the members of the Sectoral Committee for Standardization for the Certification of Labor Competencies in Foreign Trade, who participated in the construction of the labor competency profile “Assistant in Foreign Trade”, a tool that will allow for better prepared personnel to meet the demands of international trade.
