More than 9,000 economic units linked in the value chain and 207,000 jobs consolidate CLAUGTO in the automotive industry as the axis of the economic development of Guanajuato

The Ministry of Economy of the State of Guanajuato participated in the Annual Meeting of Associates of the Guanajuato Automotive Cluster (CLAUGTO), a space to follow up on the sector’s agenda, review results and define actions towards 2026.
In this context, and representing the Governor of the People, Libia Denisse García Muñoz Ledo, the Secretary of Economy, Claudio Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, reiterated the commitment of the state administration to maintain close work with industry, strengthening the conditions for investment, competitiveness and job creation in Guanajuato.
During the meeting, the importance of consolidating coordination between companies, government and academia to face the challenges of the global environment was highlighted, as well as to maintain Guanajuato’s position as one of the main automotive hubs in the country.
The CLAUGTO integrates more than 9,000 economic units linked in the value chain and generates opportunities for more than 207,000 people, making it a key player in the state’s economic dynamics.
It was also highlighted that Guanajuato remains the national leader in vehicle production, with more than 861,000 units, while the transportation equipment industry represents 20.5% of the state’s GDP and accounts for exports of more than 27,841 million dollars.
The Secretary of Economy acknowledged the work of the 2024-2026 Board of Directors of CLAUGTO and the associated companies, highlighting their contribution to the generation of formal employment and the strengthening of local supply chains.
Finally, a call was made to continue promoting the integration of MSMEs into value chains, as well as to strengthen training, innovation and institutional coordination to consolidate sustained economic growth.
The People’s Government reaffirms its commitment to continue working in coordination with the productive sector to maintain Guanajuato as a national benchmark in the automotive industry.
