The People’s Volunteer Program and the State DIF launched a fundraising campaign to support families in Venezuela

In a call for solidarity and unity among the people of Guanajuato, the Guanajuato State DIF System , through the People’s Volunteer Program, launched a statewide collection of food and essential items to support families affected by the earthquakes that recently struck Venezuela, leaving thousands of people vulnerable and in urgent need of humanitarian aid.
The President of the Advisory Council of the Guanajuato State DIF System, Juan Carlos Montesinos Carranza, said that this initiative seeks to provide timely and supportive assistance to those going through difficult times, and therefore called upon citizens, the business sector, civil associations, volunteer groups and society in general to join this cause by donating essential supplies.
“Today more than ever, it is time to demonstrate that solidarity knows no borders. From Guanajuato, we extend a helping hand to Venezuelan families facing this emergency, convinced that every contribution can make a difference in the lives of those who need it most,” said Montesinos.
In response to this humanitarian emergency, the People’s Government , through the People’s Volunteer Program, set up collection centers from July 1st to 10th at the Guanajuato Bicentennial Park, the offices of the State DIF System, and the facilities of the 46 Municipal DIF Systems in the State.
The Director General of the Guanajuato State DIF System, Jose Alfonso Borja Pimentel, explained that they will be receiving non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies and tools, which will be sorted and packed for later delivery to the National DIF System, the agency in charge of coordinating the shipment of humanitarian aid.
The main collection center will be located in the Guanajuato Bicentennial Park, located on the toll road at kilometer 3.8, Los Rodríguez community, in Silao; in addition to the offices of the Guanajuato State DIF System located at Paseo de la Presa # 89-A, in the city of Guanajuato; as well as in the facilities of the 46 Municipal DIF Systems of the State, where donations can be delivered from July 1 to 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
What you can donate:
- Tools.- Shovel, pickaxe, gloves, flashlights, helmets, batteries
- Non-perishable supplies – Rice, beans, canned goods, pasta, oil, bottled water (any presentation)
- Cleaning supplies – Air freshener, detergent, chlorine, disinfectants, brooms, mops, buckets, rags
- Personal hygiene – Shampoo, toothpaste, bar soap, wet wipes, sanitary napkins, razors
The People’s Government, through the Guanajuato State DIF System and the People’s Volunteer Network, strengthens the values of solidarity, empathy and unity among Guanajuatense families, promoting a support network that allows them to bring hope and help to those who today face one of the most complex situations.
