At the Tianguis Turistico Mexico 2026, in Acapulco, Guerrero, the State of Guanajuato was distinguished by the magazine Mexico Desconocido, and by the Federal Secretary of Tourism (SECTUR), with important recognitions that reaffirm its leadership as a tourist destination at the national level.

On the third day of the Tianguis Turistico 2026, Guanajuato received nominations for its cultural treasures, the quality of its experiences and the innovation of its tourism offer.

These achievements reflect the commitment of the People’s Government, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, to strengthen the State’s tourism competitiveness, as well as to promote authentic experiences that position Guanajuato in the favor of national and international visitors.

After receiving the awards from the Federal Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodriguez Zamora, the Secretary of Tourism and Identity of Guanajuato, Lupita Robles Leon, said that: “Receiving these recognitions at the Tianguis Turistico Mexico 2026, from Acapulco, confirms that Guanajuato is a destination that stands out for its cultural treasures, the quality of its experiences and its capacity to innovate in tourism.”

The tourism promotion magazine, Mexico Desconocido, awarded the prize for Best Contemporary Cultural Festival to the Cervantino International Festival (FIC), one of the most important cultural events in America, held in Guanajuato City; and also recognized the participation of the San Miguel de Allende hot springs in the Best Luxury and Wellness Experience category, for their endearing offer of rest, health and connection with the environment.
“The nominations to the International Cervantino Festival, and the wellness experiences in San Miguel de Allende, are the result of the joint work of those who make of tourism a tool to preserve our identity and generate development for our people,” said Robles Leon.

The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico (SECTUR) awarded the Recognition for Innovation of the Mexican Tourism Product 2026, in the category of Wellness Tourism, to Tierra Madre Hotel Boutique, in Comonfort; for its proposal that integrates hospitality, wellness and sustainability.
“This award given to Tierra Madre Hotel Boutique by the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico reflects the path we are building: an innovative, sustainable and forward-thinking tourism for Guanajuato,” said Secretary Robles Leon.
