The alliance of Guanajuato and Catalonia strengthens knowledge transfer and positions IECA with an international vision
Collaboration of industry, academia and government is key to develop the talent that the sector demands

In order to strengthen talent development for strategic sectors and promoting the exchange of knowledge at an international level, the State Institute of Training (IECA) held the webinar “Talent at Height: Capabilities for the aeronautical and high-precision industry”, where specialists from Mexico and Catalonia shared experiences on the challenges that the industry faces in developing highly specialized human capital.
The webinar is part of the actions derived from the collaboration agreement between IECA and the Public Employment Service of Catalonia, an alliance that promotes the exchange of good practices, talent training and international links, consolidating the Institute as a benchmark in training for the productive sectors of the future.
The experts agreed that the aeronautical and aerospace industry requires personnel with increasingly specialized training, technical certifications and transversal skills that allow them to respond to rapid technological evolution.
“The biggest challenge today is to integrate industry, academia, and government to clearly define where we want to take our technical specialists,” said Felipe Briones, who emphasized that collaboration among the different actors will help close the gap between training and the real needs of the labor market.
Catalina Ramirez emphasized the importance of fostering scientific vocations from an early age and offering practical experiences that introduce new generations to the sector. “We cannot aspire to what we do not know,” she said, noting that training must combine technical knowledge with skills such as leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
From Catalonia, Jordi Pons Segala emphasized that industry must become more actively involved in training future professionals. “Industry is leading the way; we are adapting to its needs,” he said, referring to the importance of strengthening dual vocational training and keeping educational programs up-to-date.
The participants concluded that international cooperation and permanent links between academia, industry and government will be key to consolidating a highly competitive human capital and maintaining Guanajuato as a benchmark in talent development for the strategic sectors of the future.
