More than 173 million pesos are being invested in infrastructure that will facilitate connectivity to education and hospital services

Connecting the people who need it most with the main basic services that promote their development and well-being is a commitment of the Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.
“The construction of the Canaveral Boulevard abides to the Governor’s directions, as it will improve access and exit connectivity in an area with high residential and service growth. This area includes the General Hospital of Leon, the Bajio Regional High Specialty Hospital, as well as the campuses of the University of Guanajuato and the Technological University of Leon, in addition to several residential developments,” said the Secretary of Public Works (SOP), Juan Pablo Perez Beltran, who highlighted that the works on the Canaveral boulevard register a real physical progress of 54.68%.
The head of the SOP said that the paving work on the Cañaveral boulevard is being carried out with an investment of 173 million 724 thousand 444 pesos, resources provided by the Government of the People.
The main works involve the continuation of an existing road, with a total intervention of 1.5 kilometers. The section to be paved runs from Vicente Valtierra Boulevard to the Metropolitan Axis, with a length of 1.08 kilometers.
It will be a concrete roadway with three lanes in each direction. It will also feature a central median averaging 13 meters wide and a two-way bike path.
Additionally, 420 meters of bike path with the same characteristics will be added along the existing roadway. Furthermore, the new roadway will have 3-meter-wide sidewalks on both sides of the boulevard.
It is important to note that, at the intersection with Juan Alonso de Torres Boulevard, there will be acceleration lanes that will allow for safer entry and exit to this road.
This boulevard will serve as an alternative route to reduce traffic congestion on Airport Boulevard, as those heading to the area will be able to use routes such as Juan Alonso de Torres or the Metropolitan Axis. Furthermore, it will connect with Vicente Valtierra and Guanajuato Boulevards, where traffic lights are planned to improve traffic safety and flow.
