Guanajuato keeps consolidating as one of the most dynamic industrial economies in Mexico, registering an annual growth of 0.7 percent in its industrial activity during January 2026, a result higher than the national average of -1.1 percent, according to information from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
The People’s Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, has promoted a strategy focused on strengthening the State economy through industrial development, attracting investments, generating infrastructure, and supporting productive sectors, allowing Guanajuato to maintain sustained and competitive growth in the face of the challenges of the national and international economic environment.
With this result, Guanajuato ranked 11th nationally in industrial activity growth, standing out among the states with the best economic performance in the country.
One of the fastest-growing sectors was construction, which had a 15.3 percent annual increase, placing Guanajuato 8th nationally in this area. This performance reflects the State’s continued dynamism in infrastructure, industrial development, and the execution of productive projects.
Also, the mining sector showed a growth of 7.6 percent, positioning Guanajuato in 7th place nationally, a result that contributes to the strengthening of economic activity and the promotion of strategic production chains.
These results take on greater relevance in a scenario marked by international challenges, adjustments in supply chains and changing economic conditions, where Guanajuato has managed to maintain stability, dynamism and growth capacity.
The State’s industrial strength is the result of a strategy based on strengthening talent, economic diversification, logistical connectivity, regional development, and coordination between government, businesses, and productive sectors.
The People’s Government reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting public policies aimed at strengthening economic activity, generating trust for investment, and creating more development opportunities for Guanajuatense families.
