Guanajuato leads nationally in the manufacture of transportation equipment, with a value exceeding 435 billion pesos

Guanajuato is consolidating its position as one of the main drivers of Mexico’s manufacturing industry.
From January to August 2026, the State reached a production value of 812,037 million pesos, placing it second nationally, according to the manufacturing sector’s results for this period.
During the same period, the State registered an annual growth of 0.8 percent, compared to a national variation of -0.1 percent for January-August 2025. This result reflects Guanajuato’s productive capacity and the relevance of its industry in the country’s economic development.
One of the main drivers of this activity is the manufacture of transport equipment, a sector in which Guanajuato ranks 1st nationally, with a production of 435 billion 847 million pesos and an accumulated annual growth of 2.4 percent.
These results align with the economic development vision of the People’s Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, aimed at strengthening the State’s productive capacities, boosting its competitiveness, and consolidating an economy that generates benefits for Guanajuatense families.
Through Guanajuato SUMA, the State’s economic policy promotes balanced regional development, productive and technological diversification, the strengthening of industrial infrastructure, and the growth of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, as part of a comprehensive vision to keep Guanajuato among the most competitive states in Mexico.
The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, is leading the agency’s efforts to strengthen the State’s productive ecosystem and continue an economic policy that favors business growth and value creation in Guanajuato.
With its national position in manufacturing production and its leadership in transportation equipment, Guanajuato reaffirms the importance of its industry as an engine of the State economy and as a strategic platform for the productive development of Mexico.
