Training, professionalizing a business, and opening new markets can transform not only a company, but also a family’s income and opportunities.

That was the message of the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, during a new broadcast of Connecting with the People, dedicated to explaining how Guanajuato SUMA promotes talent and strengthens micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

“We want economic development to truly translate into benefits for the people,” said the Governor.

Accompanied by Luis Antonio Vargas Zavala, General Director of the Coordinator for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (COFOCE); Salomon Ceballos Ochoa, General Director of the State Institute of Training (IECA); as well as by two entrepreneurs from Guanajuato, Libia Dennise highlighted that the objective is to guide companies from training and professionalization to the possibility of conquering international markets.

The IECA participates in this strategy with specialized training in areas such as automation, advanced manufacturing, information technologies, electronic design, biotechnology, packaging and packing.

Meanwhile, COFOCE supports companies in their preparation to export, with training, certifications, commercial linkage and contact with international buyers.

During the program, Rosina Renteria shared the story of Artisalis Flor de Sal, a company that participated in FOODEX Japan this year and finalized the sale of two containers destined for that country. “I couldn’t have done it alone. It’s a process that requires support,” she noted.

Ana Dolores “Lolita” Cabrera, founder of Braniff, also participated. She has completed more than 70 training sessions at IECA and is now looking to take the next step toward exporting. “Don’t underestimate any workshop. Training changes your perspective and can also improve your family’s life,” she shared.

The Governor insisted that Marca Guanajuato Internacional is part of this growth strategy to recognize companies that are already taking their products to the world and to motivate more SMEs to follow that path. “We want to support them so they can grow, overcome their fears, and discover the full potential of products made in Guanajuato,” said Libia Dennise.
