More than 234,000 vehicles travel every day across these bridges in eleven municipalities of Guanajuato

The Secretary of Public Works (SOP) has completed maintenance work on vehicular bridges located in eleven municipalities of Guanajuato, with the aim of strengthening road safety and ensuring better mobility conditions for users of the State highway network.
The head of the agency, Juan Pablo Perez Beltran, noted that these structures are fundamental for the connectivity and development of the different regions of Guanajuato, so their conservation is essential to provide security to the 445,218 users who travel daily.
“Following Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo’s instruction to maintain Guanajuato’s road infrastructure in optimal condition, we allocated 25 million 809 thousand 275 pesos to the maintenance of vehicular bridges in eleven municipalities of the State,” the State official said.
Perez Beltran explained that the actions were carried out on bridges located in zones A and B of the State, which include the municipalities of:
- Abasolo, Doctor Mora, Victoria, Xichu, San Jose Iturbide, San Luis de la Paz, Jerecuaro, Guanajuato, Leon, San Francisco del Rincon and Purisima del Rincon
The work carried out included excavations, diversion of riverbeds in work areas, demolition and reconstruction of masonry walls, filling of structures and various conservation actions aimed at preserving the integrity and functionality of the bridges.
Similarly, concrete work was carried out on sidewalks, construction of curbs and washbasins, installation of vertical and horizontal signage, replacement of metal guardrails, as well as cleaning of roads, sidewalks and drainage systems.
An average of more than 234,784 vehicles travel daily along the roads where these structures are located, so their maintenance represents a strategic investment to strengthen road safety and mobility for the people of Guanajuato.
