Guanajuato continues to demonstrate that local talent can conquer international stages. And this World Cup was no exception; two Guanajuatense fashion companies secured contracts as suppliers of official products for the 2026 World Cup, becoming an example of competitiveness, innovation, and global vision.

They are Sombreros Salazar Yepez and Hebillas y Herrajes Finos de Leon, companies that, with the support and accompaniment of COFOCE, are now part of an international project led by the company Q-LIVE, dedicated to the licensing and marketing of products for international sporting events.

This achievement is part of the vision promoted by Governor Libia Denisse Garcia Munoz Ledo and the People’s Government, which is committed to open more doors for Guanajuatense talent, strengthening the internationalization of SMEs and generating opportunities that directly impact the families of Guanajuato.

Guanajuatense tradition that will cross borders
From San Francisco del Rincon, Sombreros Salazar Yepez managed to become a supplier of decorative handcrafted charro hats for this international project.

Founded in 1950, the family business led by Guillermo Salazar Yepez keeps alive an artisanal tradition that will now reach consumers in different parts of the world.
“The process wasn’t easy; it took us more than a year and a half to achieve it because they required certifications and audits. All of this was accomplished thanks to the collaborative work we had with both COFOCE and the Economic Development office of the municipality of San Francisco del Rincon, who connected us with this company so we could obtain the license and produce these products,” said the producer Guillermo Salazar Yepez.

Today, the company exports to the United States and Germany, and generates direct employment for 20 people and has an indirect impact on more than 300 women who decorate hats from their homes, allowing them to earn an income without neglecting their families.
From Leon to the world
Meanwhile Hebillas y Herrajes Finos de Leon managed to integrate into the Q-LIVE project by manufacturing thousands of commemorative keychains for the 2026 World Cup.

The company from Leon, led by Emmanuel Segoviano, has more than 20 years of experience in the manufacture of metal fittings and accessories for industries such as footwear, fashion and leather goods.
For two years, the company underwent international audits and evaluation processes related to production, administrative compliance, business ethics, and quality standards.

“In 2018 we started with the idea that we had to grow, but to grow we had to export; without a doubt from that moment on we approached COFOCE and it has been a strategic ally in that sense, we had a lot of desire and we decided that we had to export, they helped us, there have been trade missions, they have invited us, we have gone to Central America, the United States, we have approached COFOCE for advice,” said Emmanuel Segoviano.

Today the company generates 186 direct jobs and exports products to the United States, Central America and other international markets.
Both cases reflect how the collaboration of companies, government, and economic development agencies can transform local businesses into global success stories.
