The People’s Government, through the Secretary of Finance, is moving toward a more modern, efficient, and coordinated public treasury by signing an Administrative Collaboration and Fiscal Coordination Agreement with the Government of Jalisco, focused on vehicle-related procedures.

This measure will gradually strengthen State revenues through the exchange of vehicle information.

Following the objectives of cooperation with other states and the federation, established by the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, this agreement is signed and aims to establish the bases of administrative collaboration for the collection, execution and recovery of taxes, fees, products and revenues in vehicular matters, as well as non-fiscal administrative fines imposed for violations of the laws and regulations of mobility in matters of traffic and transportation in the States of Guanajuato and Jalisco.

The signing of the agreement was celebrated on April 16 at the Embassy of the European Delegation in Mexico, and was attended by the Secretary of Public Finance of Jalisco, Luis Garcia Sotelo, the Secretary of Finance of Guanajuato, Hector Salgado Banda and, as witnesses of honor, the Head of Cooperation of the Delegation of the European Union, Stefan Agne and the Head of the Coordination Unit with Federal States (UCEF), Fernando Renoir Baca Rivera.

During the signing, the Secretary of Finance of Guanajuato said that this agreement will strengthen the collection of local revenues derived from incentives for collection efforts, since the State carrying out the collection work will receive a percentage of the revenue. Through this shared responsibility scheme that benefits both States, they will contribute to reducing tax evasion and increasing compliance levels.

“Additionally, this agreement has an impact that goes beyond fiscal matters. Coordination in vehicle matters improves vehicle traceability, strengthens control and surveillance efforts, and contributes to a safer environment,” said Salgado Banda. This is because it will ensure that violations of the Mobility Law have effective consequences, regardless of whether the offender resides in the neighboring state.
