Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, led the awards ceremony of the Charro Tournament “Don Lupe Vive”, an event that has become one of the most important championships of charreria in Mexico and that celebrates the identity, tradition and pride of the families of Guanajuato.
In this event, held at the Lienzo Charro “Ignacio Leon Ornelas”, the Governor recognized the effort, discipline and passion of the participants, who for several days demonstrated their talent and respect for this national sport, which is part of the heart of Mexico and the history of Guanajuato.
“I am very excited to be in this event that represents the best of our national sport, of our charreria, which fills Guanajuato with pride. Today we not only congratulate those who won, but also those who gave it all and put their heart into it,” said the Governor.
The Governor also highlighted the role of families, the charro teams, and the new generations who keep this tradition alive, and reiterated the support of the People’s Government for charreria to continue growing and consolidating itself as a cultural expression that unites communities.
“We want our girls and boys to feel proud of this tradition that fills us with identity. Here, with our charros and escaramuzas, we realize that this is Mexico, that this is Guanajuato,” said Libia Dennise.
With the participation of 36 teams from 19 States of Mexico, the tournament brought together some of the best representatives of charreria, also generating family gathering and economic activity in Irapuato, by bringing together competitors, visitors and fans for several days of competition.
