The Guanajuato State Ministry of Tourism and Identity, headed by Maria Guadalupe Robles León, is participating in the World Meetings Forum (WMF) Global Mexican Caribbean 2025, a high-level international event.

This gathering is part of the global We Make Future (WMF) network, recognized as one of the world’s leading digital innovation festivals, focused on promoting technology, entrepreneurship, and sustainability within the meetings industry.

This agenda is part of the tourism promotion and development plan promoted by the People’s Government, under the vision of Governor, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, and the Secretary of Tourism and Identity, Lupita Robles, who are committed to meetings tourism as an economic engine and as a showcase to demonstrate the quality, professionalism, and innovation of Guanajuato to the world.

The WMF brings together leaders, experts, international organizations, and companies from the MICE sector, promoting knowledge exchange, investment opportunities, professional development, and collaboration between the public and private sectors. Its headquarters in the Mexican Caribbean positions the region as a strategic hub connecting Latin America with the world.
By 2025, the event projects participation from 50 hosted buyers, 50 table tops, 2,560 business appointments, as well as the generation of leads and business links that strengthen the tourism supply chain.

The main objectives of the WMF are to bring together event organizers with destinations and specialized suppliers, generate business opportunities, and promote the infrastructure, services, and capabilities that each entity offers for congresses and conventions. In addition, the program includes conferences, panels, exhibitions, activations, and networking opportunities that foster global competitiveness with a sustainable and innovative approach.

Also part of the delegation are the Directorate of Hospitality and Tourism of León and the Guanajuato Capital Tourism Council, strengthening the joint promotion of the state’s MICE destinations.
In 2024, Guanajuato recorded a record of more than 150 meetings industry events in its six destinations: León, Guanajuato Capital, San Miguel de Allende, Silao, Celaya, and Irapuato, as well as an economic impact exceeding one billion pesos, generating jobs and opportunities for those who find a way of life in meetings tourism.
